The Beginner Work Life Skills: Step by Step course is designed to provide essential skills for success in the workplace for students in the early stages of their integration process. The course focuses on the foundational skills and practical knowledge needed at the beginning of a career. It offers a solid base of skills and practical competencies to support students in integrating into the Finnish work environment. The course encourages learning and active participation by offering interactive learning environments and practical exercises.
Course Content:
Workplace Culture and Expectations: Students will gain an understanding of the workplace culture in Finland and the expectations employers have for their employees. This includes communication styles, dress codes, and adherence to work schedules.
Job Search and CV Preparation: Students will learn how to create a CV and apply for jobs. The course also covers preparation for job interviews and how to succeed in them.
Basic Workplace Skills: The course covers fundamental skills such as time management, teamwork, and problem-solving. It also addresses the importance of following workplace rules and resolving conflicts.
Finnish Language in the Workplace: As language skills are crucial for success in the Finnish job market, this section focuses on practicing the Finnish vocabulary and communication skills needed in the workplace.
Target Group: Immigrant women from non-EU countries with language skills below A1.3 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

This course is designed for immigrant women from non-EU countries with limited digital skills. The goal of the course is to improve participants’ computer and internet usage, which is essential for managing everyday tasks as well as in the workplace.
Content:
Introduction to Computers and Their Use:
Overview of computer components and basic functions.
Starting up, shutting down, and managing user accounts.
Creating, saving, and organizing files.
Using Email:
Creating and using an email account.
Sending and receiving emails.
Adding and opening attachments in emails.
Email etiquette and security.
Internet Use and Information Retrieval:
Using web browsers and basic functions.
Searching for information using different search engines.
Identifying reliable and secure information.
Internet safety: basic concepts of data protection and privacy.
Word Processing:
Basic functions of word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).
Creating, editing, and saving documents.
Basic formatting: fonts, paragraphs, headings, and lists.
Printing and sharing documents electronically.
Digital Everyday Life and Online Transactions:
Using online banking and security.
Accessing public services online (e.g., Kela, tax office).
Making and paying for online purchases securely.
Basics of social media and safety.
Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will:
Be able to use email for communication.
Be capable of searching for information on the internet safely and effectively.

This course is aimed at immigrant women from non-EU countries with weak or non-existent mathematical skills. The goal of the course is to support participants in managing everyday life through basic mathematical skills.
Content: The course focuses on elementary school-level mathematics and covers the following topics:
Basic Arithmetic Operations: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Fundamental Concepts: Percentages and units of measurement.
Practical Applications: Using mathematical skills in everyday situations, such as shopping, following recipes, and creating a budget.
Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will:
Be able to perform basic arithmetic operations.
Understand fundamental concepts of percentages and units of measurement.
Apply the skills they have learned in daily situations, which will ease their integration into the new environment.

Skilled Employment: Steps to a Career is designed to provide immigrant women from non-EU countries who have been living in Finland for a longer period with enhanced work-life skills and readiness to transition smoothly into the workforce or vocational education. The course aims to give students a deeper understanding of the Finnish work environment and stronger skills to succeed within it. It encourages active learning and professional development through practical exercises and interactive learning environments. The goal is to support immigrant women’s career development and integration into Finnish society.
Course Content:
Deepening Understanding of Workplace Culture: Students will expand their understanding of Finnish workplace culture and its diversity. The course will cover topics such as workplace interaction and leadership styles in Finland.
Job Search and Career Planning Skills: The course will deepen knowledge of effective job search strategies in Finland. Students will practice writing CVs and job applications and learn the basics of networking and career planning.
Advanced Communication Skills: Students will enhance their Finnish language communication skills in a work context. The course will cover professional language use, negotiation skills, and presentation techniques.
Teamwork: The course will focus on developing teamwork skills. Students will gain experience in resolving conflicts within a group.
Target Group: Immigrant women from non-EU countries with a language proficiency of at least A1.3 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
